The AE SCA-LAB is located on the top floor of the
Aerospace Engineering Building of the Middle East Technical University in Room
Number 231. The Lab is large enough to host about 25 students and researchers.
The Lab owns many software licenses and experimental hardware. Some of them are
as follows:
-
Head-Mount-Display and data glove for Virtual
Reality simulation research.
-
TURKSAT Satellite Simulator : This simulator
consists of a Digital VAX workstation, TURKSAT simulator program, Digital
Pentium pc. The simulator simulates the orbit parameters, attitude dynamics
and systems of TURKSAT 1B satellite. Simulation results are online observed
from pc.
-
VXI based system for data acquisition and
control with accompanying Pentium Pro 200 pc. Capable of controlling 1 to 32
control loops at update rates of 2.5 kHz to 250 Hz. Inputs in digital and
analog form, outputs in digital, pulse width modulation and analog form. It
also has high speed data acquisition and signal processing properties. HP VEE
program and C drivers for this system.
-
Experimental set-up to demonstrate the principles of
a gyroscope .
-
Experimental set-up for the ongoing research
on smart structures.
-
Various flight instruments such as altimeters,
air data computers, artificial horizons, etc.
-
Test setups to show feedback principles (i.e.
servo actuators) and micro-controller programming.
