OBJECTIVES

To introduce students to practical applications in aerospace engineering, and to expose them to real engineering working environment to get hands-on experiences.

DESCRIPTION

Students are required to perform a minimum of 4-week (20 working days) summer practice, preferably in an aircraft or aircraft engine factory, or civilian or military aircraft/helicopter maintenance facility. The students should take part in machine shop related activities either through research contributions or help to the technicians/engineers in the manufacturing activities or maintenance activities. One of the main aims of this summer practice is to get the students acquainted with the manufacturing activities typically performed in organizations involved in the design/manufacturing/maintenance of aerospace vehicles. At the end of the summer practice the students must write a technical report in their own words discussing the activities they carried out during this period.
