In the UAV Design Competition organized parallel to the Short Course titled "UAV and Light Aircraft Design" held at Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (VKI)/Belgium in 20-22 May 2014, senior students from the METU Aerospace Engineering Department ranked first. The team "Aerodrone" advised by Prof. Dr. Serkan ÖZGEN competed against 13 teams from 6 nations including Belgium, Hungary, Finland, Brazil, Colombia and Turkey. The award of the 1st prize is a wind tunnel campaign of the designed UAV in the Transonic Wind Tunnel at the VKI.
